That’s right! Coffee is the next DIY decorating trend. Burlap sacks and filters can add some rustic Christmas charm to your home. Check out these wonderful coffee-inspired holiday decorating ideas.

First, we’ve found some amazing examples of what can be done with the oft overlooked yet indispensable coffee filter.

We’ve all made popcorn garland, but have you ever seen coffee filter garland…definitely a first for us. This pretty idea was found on Pamela Garrison’s Blog

We first came across this beautiful Coffee Filter Wreath on Flickr. This handmade wreath is created from coffee filters and is dyed with coffee and tea.

Not sure whether to recycle your retail coffee bag or throw it out when you’re done, well now you don’t have to think about it. Turn your bag into a whimsical Christmas star. Meg at Bringing Design Home explains how.

We saw these amazing elf stockings made from coffee sacks on Etsy. The festive green and red on the burlap and the little brass bell on the toe completes the Christmas theme.

Last but not least are these handsome burlap totes to use as gift bags or for hauling your loot off on Christmas morning. There’s a great How-To here at HGTV.

So if you’re handy with a pair of scissors and can sew a button on these may just inspire you to make some home-made holiday decorations. Stay warm, have a hot coffee and a very Merry Christmas from your favourite BC Organic Coffee Roaster!
